About The Institute for Social Progress
Wayne County Community College District’s Institute for Social Progress is a nonprofit education and research institute dedicated to elevating educational equality and civic participation among the diverse communities of metro Detroit and the nation at large.
To do this, we engage affiliate institutions, our network of the nation’s premier universities, and top legal and academic minds to think about and actively engage around issues of equal access to higher education, social mobility, segregation, race and ethnicity in ways that expand the opportunity for understanding and educational advancement for all.
We are uniquely positioned with the Wayne County Community College District – the largest urban community college in Michigan – to bridge the latest academic research with on-the-ground programs to expand opportunity and possibility for all.
