Detroit Urban Summit III: A National Conference on Integration, Civic Engagement, and Educational Equity in the Future of American Democracy
Fri Jun 29 2018 | 2018-04-27 08:00:00 - 2018-04-27 16:00:00 @ MGM Grand Detroit
This conference is the third in a series of national summits presented by Wayne County Community College District Chancellor Dr. Curtis L. Ivery, and WCCCD’s Institute for Social Progress focusing on enduring issues that disproportionately affect urban America, and related U.S. politics and policy around education.
Following these past efforts that addressed areas of economic inequality, mass incarceration, illiteracy, and significant related issues, this conference extends the scope of that work to consider critical areas of integration, civic engagement, and educational equity in advancing the project of American Democracy.
Along with Chancellor Ivery, the summit is being coordinated through the efforts of WCCCD’s Institute for Social Progress Director, Joshua Bassett, and Dr. Christine McPhail, Managing Principal of the McPhail Group LLC, a higher education consulting firm.
