Joshua Bassett, DirectorThe Institute for Social Progress is led by Joshua Bassett, founder of the Middle College Multicultural Educational Exchange Program, or MCMEEP; an American Studies-based educational curriculum informed by similar programs throughout leading universities across the nation. Bassett, with co-editor Curtis L. Ivery, is co-editor of America’s Urban Crisis and the Advent of Color-Blind Politics: Education, Incarceration, Segregation and the Future of U.S. Multiracial Democracy, published in 2011 by Rowman and Littlefield, and its companion volume published in 2015, Reclaiming Integration and the Language of Race in the “Post-Racial” Era. He is a frequent panelist and lecturer.
